The South Wales Baptist Association has a Trustee board made up of members elected by churches of SWaBA at our Association Day.
As a registered charity, we have a governing document which sets out key information about how we will operate and how we will go about our work. This governing document has been agreed by our member churches.
Our Trustees (apart from the Regional Ministers) are unpaid and are elected by the Association AGM. The Trustees have the legal responsibility for the management of the charity, and are the key body for determining strategy, policy and direction. Day-to-day management of the charity is delegated by the Trustees to the Regional Ministry Staff.
They meet about six times a year, and invite people to join them to advise them on particular matters.
The Key Role Nominations Team takes a lead in discovering, discerning and recognising key leaders to serve in various ways within the SWaBA, including identifying possible new Trustees. For more information about the Team, or to make a nomination, please click here.
We also are in relationship with Baptist Together and are represented on the Core Leadership Team by Rev'd Mark Fairweather-Tall; we are also represented on the Baptist Together Council which meets twice a year (reps below).
As an Association we take an active role on Round-Table groups within the Baptist Movement - these representatives act as an advocate for those areas within the SWaBA and keep an active link between the association and Baptist Together.
