About Us

Who we are:

The South Wales Baptist Association (SWaBA) is a partnership of over 100 churches & missional communities from across South Wales and part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain (formed in 2001)

SWaBA is in membership with the Evangelical Alliance, CYTUN and the Free Church Council of Wales.

Our member churches spread across South Wales from Broadhaven in the west to Chepstow in the east, and from Barry in the South to Brecon in Powys. The churches vary in size and are located in a variety of situations where they seek to make Jesus known in their own communities. Please see the Church Finder page for contact details for all our churches and their key leaders.

Our Purpose:

Is to walk with and enabling each other to become healthy expressions of God’s kingdom.

Our Vision:

Our vision, as part of our Baptist Union of Great Britain, is “Growing healthy churches in relationship for God’s mission” and SWaBA exists to encourage the building and development of healthy churches and to enable them to assist each other in mission in their community, Wales and the world. From our earliest beginnings in the 17th century, Baptist churches in Wales have worked in association with each other to plant and develop churches across the nation.

Our Values:

We are committed to intentionally developing these values:

  • Passionate for mission

  • Innovative and visionary

  • Generous and relational

  • Committed to justice
